Work Package 4 aims:

to obtain experimental data on liquid metal corrosion and high temperature corrosion in He gas to establish correlations for design of MYRRHA, ALFRED reactor systems and ALLEGRO reactor concept
to study corrosion resistance of welded joints and compare it with base material in various coolants
to explore compatibility of new alumina forming austenitic steels and innovative surface treatments with heavy liquid metal and high temperature helium
to obtain data on effect of liquid lead and LBE on mechanical properties of welded joints materials and alumina forming steels
to obtain microstructural and modelling data for understanding of liquid metal corrosion phenomena and development of mitigation techniques.
